Heather Richmond, Artistic Director
Performer, Choreographer, Educator, Lecturer.
Heather grew up in Devon and went on to complete the apprenticeship with Springs Dance Company in 2011 with the opportunity to also train with Ad Deum Dance Company in Texas. She then went on to train at Northern School of Contemporary Dance, graduating with a First Class Honours degree in July 2014.
She has worked with choreographers including Gary Clarke, Charles Linehan, Charlotte Spencer, Balbir Singh, Corey Baker, Angus Balbernie and Sharon Watson.
Since graduating, Heather was invited to perform, choreograph and teach with ‘Vou Dance Company’ in Fiji for 4 months, touring around the Fiji Islands and New Zealand.
In 2015 she then returned to Devon, performing and teaching consistently with Spindrift Dance Collective. She then joined Exim Dance Company as company dancer and Associate Lecturer for Plymouth University.
She has received around £200,000 in Arts Council Funding over the last five years to develop her professional work.
She is 1 out of 2 winners of the Marie McCluskey Dance Makers Fund 2017-2018 at Swindon Dance, has been selected to be part of the Surf The Wave programme and has been awarded the Lisa Ullman Travel Scholarship 2018.
