Heather teaches internationally for various companies, primary schools, secondary schools, colleges, community groups, Universities and Conservatoirs.
She uses a balance of set exercises, exploratory work and cultural influences within her phrasing. Her workshops offers highly physical and challenging movement as well as a creative/ reflective approach.
I have worked with Heather on two separate occasions. One as a community based project where Heather worked collaboratively with other dance artists and a mix of students with different dance experiences. The second setting was more of a class workshop with A Level students, technique and repertoire focused. On both occasions Heather has demonstrated excellent subject knowledge and enthusiasm for Dance. Working with a mixture of students Heather is both adaptable and understanding of the students she is working with and throughout her sessions she is constantly thriving for them to achieve their potential. She has a strong presence and is keen to share her passion and enthusiasm for Dance and all the possible opportunities it brings to individuals. She is organised and reliable and listens well to what I need as a class room teacher which is clear in her planning and delivery of the workshops. The students really enjoyed working with her and she has certainly inspired them and opened up their eyes to the world of Dance⦠in their mind Dance no longer just happens in the studio or on a stage but it can happen in many different settings and all around the world.
